Research context and anticipated research outcomes

I am interested in reducing the complexity of environmental information databases and reports into user friendly but accurate information sources for decision makers. I have looked at indicators as used in the Victorian River Health Strategy, and possible advancements in incorporating river indicators into decision making models and operational systems. On a more practical level I hope to trial the use of technology such as GPS data loggers for field assessments, and remote sensing to enhance current indicator systems in Victoria.

The more accurate and credible information is, and the better informed managers and other stakeholders are; the stronger the likelihood that wise prioritisation and positive action occurs in river management. I look forward to a time when river health improves rather than declines in Victoria.
